Ariel Gail

Professor Gail S. Goodman teaches psychology at the University of California Davis. She is also the director of the Center for Public Policy Research. She was widely credited for initiating the modern study of the memory of witnesses and the role of children in witnessing. Professor Goodman who is a prolific author with numerous papers and grants to her name and is the recipient of numerous national and global distinctions. She has collaborated with numerous government agencies and institutions around the globe on policy and research relating to child victimized by the justice system. She acts as a consultant for the Special Assault Forensic Evaluation Center (formerly Multidisciplinary Interview Center) of the Sacramento County Child Protective Services. She is a member of numerous professional associations, including the Association for Psychological Science and American Psychological Association. She is a founding member of the American Professional Society for the Abuse of Children, the Psychonomics Society Society for Research into Child Development, and the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies. She has been president of The American Psychological Association's Developmental Division, as well as three Divisions: Children and Families Policy and Practice Division American Psychology Law Society and Division Developmental Psychology.
